Hello!

Hi! My name is Carleen and I’m a librarian for the Jefferson Community College  in Watertown, New York. My interests range, although I tend to focus my reading and research on reference services, information literacy for college/college bound students and how to use technology and social media tools effectively to teach. My home life consists of spending time with my husband, a photographer, and my spirited three year old son. Together we live, learn and love one day at a time.

Blogging and my life online

I starting blogging in 2003. My husband and I shared a blog at the time and wrote mainly about our daily lives. Today we each have our own blogs, my husband here and I, here and here. My personal blog is focused more on what I do in my daily life, interests and thoughts I may have outside of my work life. My professional blog focuses more on informational science and library related topics. Although, I don’t necessarily draw to much of a distinction between the two and I will probably share bits from both worlds in each blog interchangeably.  You can also find me elsewhere online via various social networks. For a list of the ones I am most active on, refer to the links menu below.

Just in case you’re curious, or really bored, you can find an even lengthier about me page here.
